Run this unique and fun race that's slightly longer than a half marathon and 5k as we celebrate our friends in East Texas who have Down syndrome. The course will take you through the Longview Trail System and through the downtown area.

The Longview Half Marathon has become an annual tradition in March for many years. The East Texas Down Syndrome Group is excited for our 3rd year to host the race in Downtown Longview to enjoy the beautiful trail system of our city.
Our race purpose is to advocate for acceptance and inclusion in the community for those with Down syndrome and other disabilities. All proceeds go to the East Texas Down Syndrome Group. Down syndrome or Trisomy 21 is a chromosomal anomaly when an individual is born with 3 copies of chromosome 21. World Down Syndrome Day #WDSD is always held March 21st (3/21) to represent triplication of the 21st Chromosome. This 3rd time hosting is also special to ETDSG because we get have the race on World Down Syndrome Day this year!!! The timing of the races will be at the half marathon and 3.21 mile marks, but every half marathon runner will have the opportunity to finish at the 13.21 mile mark symbolizing individuals who rock their extra 21st chromosome.
Come out for a good race, great time, and a fantastic cause!!! The race starts in downtown Longview at the corner of Tyler St. & Center St. You will run through the Cargill Long Park Trail, through the extension and back up through the Boorman Trail. Your loot bag will include a shirt, rockin' socks and sponsor coupons and extras.
Thank you for supporting #ETDSG as we fulfill our mission to:
- Provide support to people with Down syndrome and their families.
- Promote inclusion and acceptance through education in the community.
